Universal Credits and Oracle BYOL to PaaS

Help your customers’ businesses in their transition to the Cloud

Oracle's two new programs make it simpler and easier for organisations to buy and consume cloud services, helping them get more value from their existing Oracle software investments. These programs are Oracle Universal Credit Pricing (Oracle UC) and Oracle Bring Your Own License (Oracle BYOL) to PaaS.

What is BYOL to PaaS?

BYOL stands for "bring your own license". Previously, you could bring your own licenses to Oracle IaaS, but to get the benefits of PaaS automation, you couldn't leverage existing licenses. This has been changed. Oracle now offers BYOL to PaaS, enabling customers to leverage their investment in existing on-premises licenses in their journey to the Cloud.

How does the new Oracle UC model impact BYOL to PaaS?

Customers can use their credits to provision and burn down credits against license-included PaaS services or Oracle BYOL to PaaS services.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=".vc_custom_1520927374173{border-left-width: 3px !important;padding-left: 15px !important;border-left-color: #4d2e90 !important;border-left-style: solid !important;}"]

What are the features and benefits of BYOL to PaaS for your customer?

Customers can now leverage their on-prem Oracle investments in the Oracle Cloud

With Universal Credits, customers gain the ability to switch the PaaS or IaaS services they are using without having to notify Oracle.

Customers also benefit from using new services with their existing set of cloud credits when made available.

How does it work?

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Many of Oracle’s PaaS Cloud Services have BYOL versions
“BYOL to PaaS” not to be confused with simple “BYOL” where the installation and operation of the license remains with the end user

Unused on-premise licenses that qualify:
- Must be under support and map to relevant PaaS services
- License type and eventual restrictions for use in cloud remain the same as for on-premise
- No specific controls: Follows Oracle’s licensing honour system with LMS audits when appropriate[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner css=".vc_custom_1519133950651{border-top-width: 1px !important;border-right-width: 1px !important;border-bottom-width: 1px !important;border-left-width: 1px !important;padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;border-left-color: #848484 !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #848484 !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #848484 !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #848484 !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;border-radius: 5px !important;}"][vc_column_text css=".vc_custom_1520927780863{border-left-width: 3px !important;padding-left: 15px !important;border-left-color: #4d2e90 !important;border-left-style: solid !important;}"]
